Does Chocolate Cause Acne?

Personally, I think a lot of so called scientific studies are purely crap when it comes to direct benefits for the sufferers of diseases and symptoms like acne. I don't know if you agree or not, but I had a search for information on the Internet about the question: does chocolate give you acne?

On many of the recognized authority websites, studies indicate that there is no direct link between chocolate and acne breakouts or flare-ups. However, 90% of those that actually have acne problems tell us that there is a chocolate-acne relationshipe. You will draw the same conclusion if you surf the Internet for a few minutes on FAQ sites. If you are suffering from acne and want to live without them starting from now, then the following opinions should not be neglected.

In my opinion, each individual food might become someone's acne trigger while it might be of no problem for others. It would be meaningless to argue about who is wrong or right. Chocolate causes acne for me. So I just stay away from it even though I love it very much. If you are not addicted to chocolate, then it would be not hard to not eat it. If addicted (I hope not), then all you need to do is quit the addiction to chocolate.

Same argument happens to other foods, too. For example, many people reported about chili peppers or dairy products like milk causing acne breakouts and flare-ups. So it is very important for us to find out what food works in causing acne for us.

Most of the time, we can identify the specific culprit for our acne. However, sometimes we cannot because we eat many things each day, which is good because our body need various nutrients to survive healthily. In this case, I recommend that we start from the mostly mentioned foods and stop eating them for two weeks. Chocolate, chili pepper and milk, as mentioned above, are a good start. After that period of time, you will find out if the food is acne-causing or not by checking on the situation of your acne.

If you have found out that chocolate is linked to your acne outbreaks and you don't want to stop eating it completely, I think you should try eliminating the quantity you ingest each day and check the result out. After that, you might want to try different chocolate products which have different ingredients. For example, if you want to find out about the dark-chocolate-acne myth, then you may want to go through the two week trial for each. Don't forget to check on the ingredients included so that you are more aware of what you are doing. It's hard but would be worth it if you really care.

I think we should not only focus on individual food or products that we eat, but also pay more attention to the external affects that a food or product has on our skin. For example, researches have found out that grease which is left on the skin after we use the hand that has touched the chocolate to touch our skin may cause acne and pimples.

No matter you agree with the above opinions or not, I think it would be benefitial to put those of your own aside for now and do what we are talking about here. You will find out the real relation between acne and chocolate, the correct answer to the question: does eating chocolate cause acne, what you should do with the acne-causing food and enjoy a clear skin for the rest of your life.
